VEJLE: The plans for Energipark Give with wind turbines, solar cells and biogas plants have been put on hold. This is reported by Vejle Amts Folkeblad, which can report that Vejle Municipality has pulled the emergency brake after growing insecurity among citizens. "We in Vejle Municipality have chosen to stop and rethink the process. Among other things, I experience that several citizens lack clear answers and therefore feel unsafe. This makes a big impression," says Michael Sloth, Director of Technology & Environment in Vejle Municipality.
The small local community of Dørken is particularly affected by the plans for Energipark Give. According to local media, several residents feel that the project developer is trying to squeeze them out of their homes. The fear is particularly related to odors from a planned biogas plant and the heavy truck traffic, which is expected to hit the area hard.
The project developer Eurowind Energy supports a new process. "We support putting the pieces back together. We recognize that it is a very large project that requires transparency and a lot of dialogue. We are ready to agree to develop a new process that is more coherent and creates greater security," says project manager Claus Just Pedersen.
