The Esbjerg-based company Viking Life-Saving Equipment, which manufactures various survival equipment for ships and the offshore industry, has had its address at Sædding Ringvej in Esbjerg since 1965, and the company will probably have it for many years to come.

Thus, the company has recently secured the opportunity for continued development and growth in Esbjerg by acquiring three land plots totaling 20,000 square meters east of the headquarters. The company will take over the properties, which were purchased from Gunnar Gregersen A/S, on September 30. The company announced this in a statement.

- The acquisition is part of the long-term strategy to secure the future of VIKING in Esbjerg, says Henrik Uhd Christensen, CEO of VIKING, he continues:

- VIKING wants to be able to continue its growth globally, based on the local headquarters at Sædding Ringvej. With the land purchase, we are not limited by the physical framework in our long-term development, he says.

No current plans for expansion

Since 1965, Viking has expanded several times, most recently adding a larger lease at Håndværkervej 4 to secure the necessary space.

Although it has now secured plenty of space, Viking has no current plans for future expansions, and therefore the current tenants of the properties on the cadastre will also continue in the premises for the time being.

However, Viking has just begun work on mapping the company's long-term needs for expansion within the areas of office, production and warehouse as well as service and test facilities.

- We are an Esbjerg company and want to maintain our domicile in Esbjerg and on Sædding Ringvej. The newly acquired areas support precisely this long-term goal. We have no current construction plans. The acquisition of the land is part of a long-term strategy for a presence in Esbjerg and thus securing the possibility of expanding where we are headquartered if the need arises, says Henrik Uhd Christensen.
