632 companies in Esbjerg Municipality have been awarded wage compensation during the corona crisis for 223.6 million DKK since March, writes JydskeVestkysten.
It is the offshore industry in particular that has received a lot of help through the wage scheme, a review of the companies shows. Among the maritime recipients is Blue Water Shipping, which has received 8.5 million DKK, which is the second most in the municipality.
In addition, many other offshore companies have received support. Here are the companies in the offshore industry that have received more than two million DKK. DKK in wage compensation:
- Viking Life-Saving Equipment, DKK 5.1 million.
- Altus Intervention, DKK 4.2 million.
- Qubiqa, DKK 3.5 million.
- Halliburton, DKK 3.1 million.
- MacArtney, DKK 2.9 million.
- Bramidan, DKK 2.7 million.
- Fanø Kran-Service, DKK 2.3 million.
- NHV, DKK 2.1 million.
- Logitrans, DKK 2.1 million.
The wage compensation scheme was established in March to avoid large layoffs among companies that were hit hard by the crisis and had to send employees home.
Companies can, among other things, receive compensation for the wages of repatriated employees if they repatriate at least 30 percent of their workforce or more than 50 employees.
The offshore industry in particular has been hit hard by both new, difficult working conditions, while the crisis has resulted in very low demand for oil, which has sent the price down significantly.
As of September 7, the Danish Business Authority has approved more than 54,000 applications and thus more than DKK 12 billion in compensation.
