FREDERIKSHAVN: A new social democratic voice is emerging in the case of property transactions at the port of Frederikshavn. Mayoral candidate Anders Brandt Sørensen wants full transparency and demands that the city council be given access to all relevant documents in the case. He is not currently on the city council and therefore cannot directly interfere in the decisions, but he clearly expresses what he hopes will happen in the case. This is reported by TV2 Nord.

- I hope that you can get all the answers you want, and I hope that the city council gets access to everything they want, because we have to. That is the only way in this. So there is no one above and no one next to the city council. It is a dormitory that should have access to everything they want to have access to. That's just the way it should be. That's not up for discussion in my world, says Anders Brandt Sørensen, who is a mayoral candidate in Frederikshavn.

The case concerns the sale of several properties, where Frederikshavn Municipality has sued the former port director, the chairman of the port's board and the port's lawyer for irregularities. Subsequently, the company M.A.R.S. has sued the municipality because they could not get the properties they believe they have purchased.

At a meeting last week, the Liberal Party, the Danish Democrats and the Socialist Party demanded that the city council be given access to the legal documents. However, the municipality's management has assessed that it will take so long to obtain the material that it can only happen after the summer holidays. Anders Brandt Sørensen calls for a faster process and emphasizes that openness is necessary to restore trust in the municipality.
