French President Emmanuel Macron thanks Denmark for contributing and investing in European markets. He does so in an opening speech at a Danish-French economic forum in Paris' old stock exchange, Palais Brongniart.
- We share values, and today those values are under threat, says Macron, who then emphasizes that Denmark and France must continue to stand together.
A number of Danish and French companies are participating in the forum in connection with the state visit to France.
In his speech, Macron emphasizes that there is a lot of innovation to be found both in France and Denmark - but also in the rest of Europe. And that is precisely what needs to be acted upon, he points out.
The overarching theme of the conference is European cooperation for a resilient future. More than 20 Danish companies and several French ones are participating. Already at the beginning of the conference, several declarations of intent have been signed between Danish and French companies.
Including the Danish energy company European Energy and the French TotalEnergies on upcoming Danish offshore wind tenders. King Frederik also notes the great support for the conference in the old Paris Stock Exchange.
- Today we mark not only the deep historical ties between our two countries, but also our common commitment to creating a stronger and more resilient Europe in the future, he says in his opening speech and continues:
- The large attendance of leading companies from both France and Denmark speaks for itself.
The King mentions that he and Queen Mary visited a tapestry weaving factory that has woven Danish works on Tuesday morning as an example of good Danish-French cooperation.
He emphasizes that the old Paris Stock Exchange is full of intelligent minds in defense, health and energy - both from France and Denmark.
- You represent the bigger picture, and if we can manage to weave our skills together, I am convinced that we can further strengthen our bilateral ties and build a resilient Europe for the future, he says.
