Odsherred Municipality must look far to get the local supply back into municipal hands. Trustee Christian Jul Madsen, who has had control of Odsherred Forsyning since the fall of 2024, does not want to sell the bankrupt supply back to the municipality. This is written by Energy Supply.
"The trustee decides absolutely who the shares in the subsidiaries of Odsherred Forsyning A/S will be sold to. The trustee has not wanted to sell to Odsherred Municipality," the municipality writes in a memo published on Wednesday evening.
Municipal director Claus Steen Madsen elaborates:
- I can only conclude that no matter how much we have knocked on that door, we have not been received with interest, he says.
Instead, the trustee is working to sell the scandal-hit utility and all its subsidiaries to the energy company Ewii. A deal that Ewii director Lars Bonderup Bjørn has previously called "a good match" for both parties. If the deal with Ewii does not go through, trustee Christian Jul Madsen is free to offer the shares in the utility to another buyer.
"Whether the trustee will ask Odsherred Municipality about a purchase is unknown. The trustee is not obligated to do so," the municipality states in the memo.
Energy Supply has asked trustee Christian Jul Madsen why he did not want to sell the utility to the municipality. He has not returned before the editorial deadline.
