Hitachi Energy has been selected by Arcadia eFuels to conduct the grid connection analysis for the world's first commercial eFuels production plant for sustainable aviation fuel in Vordingborg, Hitachi said in a statement.

The planned plant will use 360 MW of renewable electricity, water and CO2 to produce carbon-free fuels that can be used in existing engines and infrastructure. The eFuels plant will generate around 100 million liters of eFuels per year, enabling airlines to reduce their CO2 emissions.

Specifically, Hitachi Energy will conduct a detailed FEED (front-end engineering and design) study of a solution that enables and optimizes the eFuels plant's grid connection and design. The contract with Hitachi Energy also includes an option to deliver the complete grid connection solutions once the FEED study is completed.

- Arcadia eFuels' project in Vordingborg is a milestone for both Denmark and the rest of the world, and we are very proud to be the preferred partner for this project, says Claus Madsen, Country Managing Director for Hitachi Energy Denmark.

The construction of the plant is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.
