Danish-owned data center on its way to the Port of Esbjerg

A Danish-owned data center is on its way to the Port of Esbjerg. The first part of the data center should be ready as early as next year, if the investment company Thylander has its way, writes DR.

Director of Thylander Bjarke Mikkelsen points to the need for a Danish-owned data center that can create security around the processing of data in a more uncertain world. The director believes that Esbjerg is an obvious location for the ambitious project because there is direct access to green energy from the North Sea and because there are fiber cables under the Atlantic.

In addition, Esbjerg Municipality has recently been named data center municipality of the year, and the municipality has a strategy to position Esbjerg as an attractive hotspot for data centers. The facility will be located at the upcoming district heating plant from Din Forsynings and is expected to cost around ten billion. DKK, writes JydskeVestkysten.
