CIP Foundation changes name to CIP Foundation: Wants international focus

After three years of focusing on green solutions in Denmark, the CIP Foundation is changing its name to CIP Foundation. This will pave the way for a larger international effort against climate change. The foundation announced this in a statement.

The organization was established in 2022 by senior partners from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners as a non-profit association. With an ambition to be a "action tank" rather than a traditional think tank, the CIP Foundation has collaborated with public institutions, research environments and private actors to develop concrete and long-term solutions in areas such as climate adaptation, hydrogen infrastructure and sustainable food production.

- The CIP Foundation has made a solid mark on Danish society in the past three years. We have helped develop long-term solutions to very pressing challenges, for example in the areas of climate adaptation and security, more sustainable food production, hydrogen infrastructure and much more, which are also solutions that are in demand internationally, says Torben Möger Pedersen, Chairman of the CIP Foundation.

According to the foundation, the need for such solutions is not limited to Denmark, and this is reflected in the name change to the CIP Foundation, which was announced at the foundation's annual meeting on June 18. The name is intended to signal that the organization wants to contribute to the green transition in an international perspective. The CIP Foundation emphasizes that energy and climate policy are increasingly linked to issues of security and societal structure - and that this requires cooperation across borders and sectors.

- The world has not become less complex since the CIP Foundation was founded three years ago, but instead of seeing complexity as an unmanageable enemy, we see it as a resource. Today, energy policy is closely linked to security policy, and in many places in the world, Denmark is looked at with suspicion, as we are good at developing technology and strong public-private partnerships. These are the strengths that the CIP Foundation will help to spread in the future, especially in a European context, says Torben Möger Pedersen.

With the new name and expanded ambition, the CIP Foundation will strengthen its role in European cooperation and bring Danish experiences with public-private partnerships into play outside the country's borders.
