The energy company Biocirc has contacted 12 neighbors within 1,000 meters of a planned biogas plant in Jammerbugt Municipality with an offer of compensation of DKK 150,000 per household. But among the neighbors there is dissatisfaction with both the project and the way the company has handled the process. This is reported by TV2 Nord.

The neighbors' criticism is that Biocirc has approached the neighbors individually instead of holding a joint information meeting. They believe that this creates insecurity and inequality between the residents. Politicians in Jammerbugt Municipality have also expressed concern and called the approach unethical, although it is not illegal. Mayor Mogens Gade (V) has announced that the municipality will raise the matter with Biocirc to gain clarity about the company's handling of the meetings.

At Biocirc, director Bertel Maigaard explains that the company has chosen the individual approach in order to be able to answer the neighbors' personal questions and avoid misunderstandings. He denies that the company has tried to create discord between the neighbors. At the same time, Biocirc emphasizes that the compensation was offered even though there is no legal requirement for compensation for biogas plants. According to the company, the purpose was to create understanding and peace about the project.
