Denmark can still become a green pioneer, but this requires a showdown with the left-wing prestige projects, which, according to Liberal Alliance party leader Alex Vanopslagh, have taken focus away from the necessary legwork in the green transition. The politician writes this in a debate piece published in Jyllands-Posten

Vanopslagh criticizes the government's climate policy for prioritizing political hot topics over real solutions. He highlights, among other things, the green domestic flight route that was announced in 2025, but which has still not been realized, and the botched offshore wind tenders. The energy islands are also mentioned as an example of politically controlled projects that have required large resources without delivering results.

"We have wasted valuable years because planned economy prestige projects took precedence over the solution of the boring but necessary tasks. The common denominator of it all was red, state-egotistical considerations, which ultimately outweighed green ambitions," writes Alex Vanopslagh, among other things, in the debate contribution.

The party leader points to three measures that, according to him, should be prioritized: An expansion of the electricity grid, a lowering of the electricity tax to the EU's minimum rate, and an impartial investigation of the possibilities of nuclear power in Denmark.
