Skive Municipality is applying to be designated a state industrial park in connection with GreenLab Skive. The application is part of the agreement "Red Carpet for Production Companies", which was adopted by a broad majority in the Danish Parliament in November last year. The agreement is intended to make it easier for companies to establish or expand and create jobs. The government will designate the five industrial parks in October, and Skive Municipality is among the applicants. This is reported by Skive Folkeblad.
- Skive Municipality will apply to be designated a state industrial park in connection with GreenLab Skive. In the application, we will highlight the story of the green transition in Skive Municipality, which characterizes the entire municipality and is particularly evident in GreenLab, says Goska Rasmussen (V), chairman of the Technical and Environmental Committee in Skive City Council.
GreenLab Skive has already established itself as a test area for green transition in industry, where over 100 jobs have been created. A local vocational education program has also been started at Skive College, which is one of the few in Denmark that provides training specifically for green technologies. Business tourism has also increased significantly, and this positive development is expected to continue if GreenLab becomes part of the selected industrial parks.
GreenLab currently houses seven companies and has room for 10-15 more. There is already dialogue with several Danish and foreign companies that have shown interest in establishing themselves in the upcoming expansion of the park. Skive City Council has allocated 140 hectares of land for GreenLab, of which the first 70 hectares are already in use, while the remaining 70 hectares are ready for expansion.
In addition, an innovation center is on the way, and research is already underway in GreenLab. The projects have received over 145 million DKK in support from the Villum Foundation and EU funds. Several companies in the park will further strengthen GreenLab's position within applied research.
