Last week it was announced that EUDP had awarded a total of 207 million DKK in support to 30 projects at universities and companies, which aim to develop and demonstrate new, green energy technologies.
However, demand was much higher. A total of 78 applications for support totaling 863 million DKK were received. As a result, many projects received negative feedback on their applications.
However, these projects and other green projects will have a new opportunity. EUDP has just opened the second application round for 2024. This time there is 280 million DKK for the development and demonstration of all types of innovative energy projects. Of the pool, 33 million DKK is targeted for projects within the development and demonstration of electricity storage. The Danish Energy Agency states this in a statement.
- We were pleased to see so many strong applications in the first application round of the year. We hope that the second round will offer at least as many exciting and promising projects that can help accelerate the green transition, says Kim Lehmann, chairman of the EUDP board, in a press release.
In addition to the EUDP's general pool, the North Sea pool of DKK 16 million is also being offered again. The purpose of the North Sea pool is to support development and demonstration projects with associated research that can contribute to a more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient production of oil and gas. The aim is particularly to reduce the environmental footprint of the industry.
The application deadline for EUDP funds runs until September 2, and the decision on whether the projects receive support will be published in December.
- If you are in doubt about whether your project fits in with EUDP, do not hesitate to reach out to the EUDP secretariat for guidance within the framework of the program. We would like to see as many qualified applications as possible, says Kim Lehmann.
