96 projects are applying to EUDP for support of over one billion DKK.

The Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP) has received 96 applications seeking a total of over DKK 1 billion in grants for the development and demonstration of new energy technology solutions.

As usual, there is great demand for the funds that EUDP distributes twice a year. This has also proven to be the case in this year's second application round for the funds, which closed on 2 September.

The programme received applications for support for new innovative energy projects for 1.03 billion DKK. With 296 million DKK in the pool, this corresponds to 3.5 times the size of the pool – and a success rate of almost 30 percent can therefore be expected among the submitted applications. This is stated by EUDP in a statement.

The majority of the applications in the round are within the focus areas “More green electricity – and for multiple purposes” and “Energy efficiency” – however, a large proportion of the support has been sought within other focus areas, such as “CO2 capture, utilization and storage”, despite a lower number of applications.

The applications will be assessed in the coming time and recommended to EUDP’s independent board, which will decide in December which projects will receive grants for the development and demonstration of new innovative energy technology.
