RINGKØBING-SKJERN: The Danish Democrats will not get the party's first mayor after all. The majority behind Mads Fuglede (DD) in Ringkøbing-Skjern has crumbled, and the Conservatives' Lennart Qvist will now get the post instead. This is reported by DR, TV Midtvest and Dagbladet Ringkøbing-Skjern.
Behind the new In addition to K, the constitution also includes Venstre, which itself ran for mayor, as well as the Social Democrats and SF.
Lone Andersen, who was Venstre's mayoral candidate, will become 1st deputy mayor.
SF negotiators have faced criticism for entering into the original constitution agreement with DD and KD, because the parties do not agree on the position on renewable energy. On Saturday morning, SF floated the possibility of leaving the agreement in favor of a new offer from V and S, and that is what the party has now done. K, LA and DF were also included in the original agreement.
The new mayor has been on the city council since 2010, the first years for Venstre, which he left in 2010. He is 54 years old and is the director of the company Pin-master. He is an advocate for business friendliness and for "green transition with reason".
While the original agreement never got signed, the new one has, Dagbladet learns. Legally, however, it is not decisive whether there is a signature or not, as agreements can be changed until the constituent meeting in December.
