Jan De Nul Group has received its first order for its upcoming installation vessel, which will be the world's largest when the vessel is completed in 2022, writes offshorewind.biz

The installation vessel Voltaire has been hired to install the 12 MW offshore wind turbines at the upcoming Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B, both of which have a total capacity of 1.2 GW.

Voltaire will be commissioned in 2022 and will have a lifting capacity of 3,000 tonnes and, when fully extended and on the seabed, will be able to reach a height of 325 metres - just surpassing the Eiffel Tower, which reaches a total height of 324 metres.
