The electricity price increased moderately in 2025 compared to the previous year, but is still far below the level from the energy crisis in 2022. The average electricity price was 61.6 øre per kilowatt-hour compared to 52.9 øre in 2024. The difference between the most expensive and cheapest hour of the year was also a whopping 4.54 DKK. This is stated by Andel Energi in a press release.
- The year 2025 has, as in recent years, had very fluctuating electricity prices. 2025 has been characterized by many hours with negative electricity prices, and therefore the year's average price of over 61 øre is also on the high side. But this only confirms that there is money to be saved by buying your electricity at the right times, says Josefine Walter, commercial director at Andel Energi.
According to the company, the electricity price peaked on January 20, when the raw price reached 435.3 øre per kilowatt-hour between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. The cheapest hour was on June 21 between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., when the price fell to minus 18.9 øre.
At the same time, June was the cheapest month in 2025 with an average electricity price of 42.1 øre per kilowatt-hour, while February was the most expensive month with 88.0 øre.
Andel Energi points out that the large fluctuations are due, among other things, to record-high electricity consumption and low production of wind energy in 2025.
