With an order of 563 million DKK with options for a further 187 million DKK, the Danish shipping company Cadeler, formerly Swire Blue Ocean, which specializes in the wind industry, sets a new milestone for the company. The order, which the company has just closed with Siemens Gamesa, is the largest in the company's history.
- We are very pleased that Siemens Gamesa has chosen us to assist them in realizing yet another of their renewable energy projects, says Cadeler CEO, Mikkel Gleerup.
Cadeler specializes in the transport and installation of offshore wind turbines. And that is precisely what the Danish shipping company will help Siemens Gamesa with.
With the order, Cadeler will be responsible for the transport and installation of some of Siemens Gamesa's offshore flagship wind turbine SG 14-222 DD, which with a capacity of 14 MW and a height of approximately 252 meters will be among the largest on the market.
The Danish company secured almost 600 million DKK in connection with a stock exchange listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange in November last year. The money was to finance, among other things, the purchase of new so-called "Cadeler X-class" ships.
These ships have been ordered to be able to handle orders for the installation of the many new offshore wind turbines, which are becoming larger than ever. With the order from Siemens Gamesa, the investment so far seems to have been well spent for the Danish Cadeler.
