The energy sector is facing increasing threats from both hybrid warfare and cyberattacks. Andel is therefore establishing a new area called Group Preparedness, where work on physical security, cybersecurity and crisis management is brought together across the group. The energy company states this in a statement.
With the great pressure on the energy sector, security is no longer just a technical issue – it is a prerequisite for us to be able to deliver to our customers and live up to our responsibility as a socially responsible actor. This requires us to be even stronger across the group, says Kristoffer Böttzauw, Director of Distribution and Regulation at Andel.
Andel has chosen to put Henrik Wej Petersen, who has previously been Director of Andel Lumen, at the head of the new group area. The incoming director believes that Andel has a special responsibility as a major player in the energy sector.
- As Denmark's largest energy company, we have a special responsibility to maintain up-to-date preparedness. Therefore, the ability to prevent and handle threats is a business-critical discipline that must be an integrated part of everything we do. I am pleased to be able to contribute to this in close collaboration with many good colleagues, says Henrik Wej Petersen, Director of Group Emergency Response at Andel.
The establishment of Group Emergency Response is intended to strengthen the group's overall coordination and cooperation with authorities, suppliers and other players in the sector. The initiative is also part of the implementation of the new law on strengthened emergency response in the energy sector, which was passed earlier this year.
