The merger of the electricity grid companies NKE-Elnet and Cerius has been approved by the Danish Energy Agency. This means that the 18,000 electricity customers in central Næstved will become part of Cerius from 31 October 2025. Cerius states this in a statement.

- We are pleased to welcome the 18,000 electricity customers in Næstved. Like everywhere else in our supply area, our focus will be on ensuring a robust supply in the city and future-proofing the electricity grid to meet the needs of customers, says Cäthe Bay-Smidt, CEO of Cerius.

According to the company, the transition means that customers in Næstved will be billed with Cerius' tariffs from 1 February 2026. This will result in a price increase, as NKE-Elnet has had temporarily low tariffs since May to compensate for previously excessive charges.

Cerius states that the tariffs for private customers are approximately at the same level as the prices NKE-Elnet had until the end of April. How big the price difference will be for the individual customer depends on consumption and consumption patterns.

The operation of Cerius' electricity network is handled by the company Nexel, which is responsible for, among other things, repairing any power outages.
