One of the country's major energy projects is now facing opposition in southwestern Jutland. The plans by the company GreenGo Energy to build 500 hectares of solar cells and up to 13 wind turbines in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality have been rejected by local residents. A working group with representatives from several rural parishes has submitted a 23-page memo to the municipality with a comprehensive and reasoned rejection.  This is reported by Dagbladet Ringkøbing Skjern.

The Liberal Party's mayoral candidate in the municipality, Lone Andersen, believes that the citizens' statement should make the politicians in the city council stop. She particularly emphasizes that many green energy plants have already been built in this particular part of the municipality, and that the process surrounding the new project has been unclear to the citizens.

- The way the project is designed today, there is no support among the citizens to implement it. And I understand that, says Lone Andersen, who is the mayoral candidate for the Liberal Party in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality.

The future of the project must now be assessed politically in the city council, where Lone Andersen is running to replace Hans Østergaard (V), who is not running again in the upcoming municipal elections.
