Since the middle of last week, US tariff plans have sent global stock markets into a sharp decline. On Tuesday, however, the Danish C25 stock index appears to be recovering some of its losses. At around 3:40 p.m., the index is up 2.7 percent. Up until 1:30 p.m., the day didn't really seem to offer anything special. Up until then, the index had been hovering around zero.

Around that time, a spokesman said that the European Commission is ready to negotiate large-scale purchases of liquefied natural gas, LNG, in the United States. The announcement came after US President Donald Trump on Monday rejected the European Commission's offer of "zero-to-zero" tariffs on cars and industrial goods.

Instead, Trump said the EU would have to commit to buying $350 billion in US energy to get a postponement of Trump's tariffs.
