The Funen energy company SEF has been on a CEO hunt since January, after saying goodbye to Anders Banke, who had been CEO of the SEF group for 17 years.
According to the company, this happened after "mutual agreement". But the agreement came on the basis of a case in which SEF had lost several hundred million on, among other things, speculating in electricity prices.
Now, however, SEF has found Banke's replacement. The energy company itself writes that "the hiring committee has gone through an extensive recruitment and hiring process". That process resulted in the best match being found internally in the group. The choice has thus fallen on Jens Christian Lundholt, who comes from SEF's subsidiary FiberLAN, where he has been CEO since May 2022.
- SEF is a fantastic company with a strong culture and strong colleagues. And it is an exciting company when, like me, you are interested in value-based management. It is extremely meaningful to work actively with the group's four bottom lines, Customers, Colleagues, SEF and Society, in everything we do, says the incoming CEO of SEF.
Long recruitment process
Chairman of the Board of Directors of SEF A/S Søren Bøving-Andersen acknowledges that it has been a long process to get the recruitment process going.
- We have given ourselves plenty of time to be thorough and find the right director among many interested parties. I am pleased that Lars Foged has had a sure hand on the wheel in the meantime, and that we can now look forward with confidence with Jens Christian at the helm. Jens Christian has shown, both previously and during his time at FiberLAN, that he can create solid results, development and growth while also having some sound values. All of these are important things for SEF, he says.
Lars Foged will continue to be acting CEO until February 1. Until the handover, he will focus on having plenty of time to hand over the CEO position to Jens Christian Lundholt.
- I am very confident that it is Jens Christian who will be the one to hand over the baton. He knows the group and possesses the qualifications and values that also characterize SEF as an organization,” says Lars Foged, who in connection with the change will return to his board work as deputy chairman of the board at SEF.
