Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M) is disappointed by the limited cessation of hostilities in Ukraine that the US and Russia agreed on Tuesday.

- It is of course disappointing, says Lars Løkke to DR.

- It is not a criticism of the Americans, it is just a criticism that Putin has not delivered one-on-one on what the Americans and Ukraine would like.

After a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to a proposal from US President Donald Trump to stop attacks on energy facilities and infrastructure for 30 days.

Subsequently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj said that he basically supports the proposal, but that he wants to talk to Donald Trump to hear more details about the plan. According to Zelenskyj, they will talk together on Wednesday.

Ukraine and the US have previously agreed that there should be an immediate ceasefire for 30 days. But Vladimir Putin only agreed to a limited version.

- I can see that what the US agreed with Ukraine on, which was a 30-day ceasefire, has not come out. Less has come out of it, Lars Løkke Rasmussen notes to DR.

Volodymyr Zelenskyj has also said on the messaging service Telegram that Vladimir Putin "has de facto rejected proposals for a complete ceasefire".

- In response, the world should reject any attempt by Putin to drag out the war, Zelenskyj said.

The Ukrainian president also said that 40 Russian drones hit Ukrainian infrastructure late Tuesday. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Since then, the two neighboring countries have been at war.
