Behind the strategic decision to merge the two businesses Kviknet and EWII Bredbånd under the name EWII Bredbånd is the desire to strengthen the group's internet area with one common and coordinated organization. EWII writes in a press release.

- The market for internet for private individuals is characterized by great competition. We want to merge EWII Bredbånd and Kviknet to strengthen EWII's position as a supplier of quality products, as both customers and the organization only have to deal with one brand, says Anette Holck, director of subscription sales and customer service in the EWII group.

In connection with the merger, everyone who has internet from Kviknet will instead receive internet from EWII broadband. Customers will automatically be moved to EWII broadband, where they will continue with their current internet solution.

- We are very pleased that we can welcome customers from Kviknet to EWII broadband. They have long been part of the EWII group, and now it is even clearer that they are a fully integrated part of the EWII family, says Anette Holck.

Internet throughout the country

In 2022, the EWII group acquired the broadband company Kviknet, which was quick to establish itself as an internet provider on local fiber networks across the country. Since then, the coverage area for EWII's internet has also been significantly expanded, so that it today includes 2.7 million addresses from northernmost Jutland to Gedser and from the West Coast to Bornholm. In the same area, EWII offers employee broadband.

- Now that EWII's internet is largely nationwide, a merger is a natural step. This allows us to focus on one company and ensure that all customers receive the same good service. For example, all our internet customers will in future have access to 24-hour support, says Anette Holck.

The two companies' offering of internet subscriptions for private individuals will also merge in the future. This means that EWII broadband will also be available to Kviknet customers who get their internet via an antenna socket in their home. And coax, as this type of broadband solution is called, will also be launched for new EWII broadband customers in connection with the merger.

According to plan, the merger will be completed in the second quarter of 2024. The affected customers will be informed on an ongoing basis, and customers who move from Kviknet to EWII will continue with the same speed and price as they have had so far.

- We look forward to welcoming Kviknet's customers to EWII, and our team is ready to ensure a smooth transition for them,” says Anette Holck, Director of Subscription Sales and Customer Service in the EWII Group.
