Around 50 academics from Aarhus, among others, traveled to Esbjerg to hear about job opportunities in the city's agencies. Esbjerg is known as Denmark's energy capital and is home to a number of agencies that are constantly looking for qualified labor. This is reported by Business Esbjerg.

The event was held in collaboration with the Academics and the job centers in Aarhus and Skanderborg. Here, job seekers could meet employees from the Danish Safety Technology Authority, the Danish Energy Agency, the Danish Transport Agency and the Danish Tax Agency, who talked about career opportunities and the working environment in Esbjerg.

- I have worked for the Danish Energy Agency for six years. Before that, I lived in Odense, and I have never regretted my decision. The city has a bit of everything: good restaurants, many activities such as climbing and water sports. At the same time, you are close to nature and can cycle to everything, says Henrik Holm Friis, who works as a clerk at the Danish Energy Agency.

The day also featured speed dating between job seekers and representatives from the agencies. Several employees emphasized that they look broadly when looking for new employees, and for many of those present, Esbjerg was a new opportunity to consider.

According to Akademikerne, the event was a success.

- I can sense that we are driving home with a busload of happy job seekers. Aarhus educates many academics and therefore naturally has a relatively high unemployment rate. We would like them to search more broadly and throughout Jutland, said consultant Tine Hejbøl Vinter.

The day ended with networking and dialogue between the job seekers and the agencies, who now hope to see more applications from academics who might be interested in a career in Esbjerg.
