The government's plan to expand the hydrogen pipeline to Idomlund is in place, but Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard (M) will not set a date for when it will happen. This is reported by Dagbladet Holstebro-Struer.
The minister states that the hydrogen pipeline will initially only be built from the border to Esbjerg, with the goal of having the connection ready by 2030. In the long term, it can be extended to Northwest Jutland, as outlined in the 'Danish Hydrogen Backbone'. However, the minister acknowledges that the decision has not been met with enthusiasm in the area. He emphasizes that further expansion depends on several factors, including economic calculations and interest in the project. For now, the government is therefore concentrating its resources on the first stage to Esbjerg.
- But I also see it as a hug to Northwest Jutland. If we did not build the stage from Germany to Esbjerg, there would be no basis at all for the hydrogen pipeline to continue at a later date, says Lars Aagaard.
