Three green initiatives from different corners of the country are finalists for the Green Power Prize 2025. The projects show how local engagement, community and green innovation can create concrete changes in the green transition. The finalists are Energifællesskabet Avedøre A.M.B.A., Thyborøn Sydhavns Møllelaug II I/S and VE Sejersbæk. They have been selected for their ability to engage the local community and translate green visions into practical solutions. This is according to Green Power Denmark.
- This year we are celebrating those who dare to think new and act locally. The Green Power Prize will go to someone who shows how the green transition can sprout and grow from below. We have seen a strong and broad field of nominees, and the three finalists each show in their own way how to engage the local community and create enthusiasm for green development, says Kristian Jensen, CEO of Green Power Denmark, in a press release.
Energifællesskabet Avedøre A.M.B.A. promotes local production and consumption of renewable energy through solar panels, charging stations and innovative heating systems. Thyborøn Sydhavns Møllelaug II I/S has secured broad local support for a large wind turbine through a publicly owned model. VE Sejersbæk combines the removal of carbon-rich agricultural land with the installation of renewable energy in a project run by local landowners. The winner will be announced on May 20 at Green Power Denmark's Summit and will receive DKK 30,000 for a green, charitable cause.
