TEA, which is an industrial partnership with close knowledge sharing and dialogue on business development within PTX and sector coupling in a broad sense, is now joined by insulation manufacturer Rockwool.

- When I visited Everfuel's hydrogen factory in Fredericia last year, I saw an obvious opportunity for coupling between electrolysis and our production. Oxygen is a waste product from hydrogen production, and we need oxygen to increase the efficiency of the melting process when we produce stone wool. The TEA partnership is interesting because energy and production companies and municipalities - like us - have high ambitions to phase out fossil energy sources and raw materials, says Frank Ove Larsen, CEO. in Rockwool Nordics, in a press release.

Over the past ten years, Rockwool has focused on the transition from fossil fuels in the form of coal and coke to biogas and green electricity, as the market increasingly demands products with low environmental impact.

- We are interested in the potential of oxygen for our production at our factory in Vamdrup, where large hydrogen players expect to establish themselves in the Triangle area. Since our factory is also close to the major energy infrastructures with electricity, gas, heat and hydrogen in the long term, the Triangle area has some unique development opportunities that we would like to investigate further. There is ambitious potential for sector coupling, and where we, with our local roots, can further contribute to creating local value and expanding our collaboration with partners in the area, says Frank Ove Larsen.

With Rockwool joining, TEA counts 34 companies, municipalities and educational institutions, each of which has its own role, which is necessary for the overall value chain to be coherent.

- Collaboration and better understanding of each other is the way forward to reducing the environmental and climate impact of companies and municipalities, so that we utilize raw materials more efficiently, and improve the competitiveness of companies. At the same time, we preserve workplaces that adapt to the future and create insight for inspiration in Denmark and the world, as we adapt to a new everyday life based on renewable energy sources and raw materials. Rockwool's energy expertise, large need for energy for production, long experience in utilizing surplus heat and local roots bring new perspective and value to the TEA partnership, says Anders Frandsen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEA.
