Topsoe plans to build what will be the world's largest and most advanced SOEC (Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell) electrolyzer factory in Herning.
Now the electrolysis manufacturer has found one of the suppliers that will make the major project a reality in the form of Eltronic from Hedensted, who in a press release says that Topsoe has chosen the company to deliver the "innards" to the factory.
- It is great for us that we are part of this visionary project, which is crucial within Power-to-X. It is in the DNA of what we do that we must help find solutions that contribute to the green transition, and we have the central knowledge and resources to take on the task, says CEO of Eltronic, Morten Svendsen.
Eltronic's delivery consists of an automation project that includes process programming, custom-made machines, transport solutions and software solutions.
- We must provide solutions that ensure stable production all the way. This is a completely new branch of the industry, so it is also new, innovative solutions that we must develop. Right now, our work with design and testing continues, and the next step is to order components and materials. We expect to be ready to install the first equipment at the factory by the end of 2023, says Morten Svendsen.
The new Topsoe factory will be built in Herning, and the production of electrolyzers will start in 2025. According to current plans, 500 MW of electrolysis capacity will be produced annually, with the possibility of expanding to five GW.
