Five innovation projects in North Jutland will receive a total of DKK 18.7 million in support through the CO2Vision business lighthouse. The projects will contribute to the development of technologies that can reduce CO2 emissions and support the green transition in the region. This is stated by Energy Cluster Denmark in a press release.
The five projects cover various technological initiatives. In Hirtshals, SWAP-X will reuse process water and excess heat to produce technical water for PtX. Another project will demonstrate an electrically powered lime kiln for emission-free lime production, while Plastic2Steel will convert plastic waste into fuel for the steel industry. At the same time, a test platform for new CO2 technologies will be established in Aalborg, and a digital tool will help smaller district heating plants capture and handle CO2.
- With the five new innovation projects in the business lighthouse, we are continuing the development of the CCUS agenda, which is very important for achieving our common climate goals. The projects are broad and cover both the production of new solutions and tools as well as the development of infrastructure for the benefit of SMEs, says Glenda Napier, CEO of Energy Cluster Denmark.
The funds are part of a national initiative in which the Danish Business Development Agency is investing 258 million DKK in developing green technologies through the business lighthouses. In North Jutland, a consortium including Energy Cluster Denmark, Aalborg University and Aalborg Portland A/S is behind CO2Vision.
