New Chinese export restrictions on rare earths are causing concern in the White House. The Chinese government's decision to stop the export of certain raw materials that are important for technological products, in the midst of the tariff dispute with the United States, is being described as worrying. This is what the Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger writes.

China has responded again to Trump's tariff policy with its own tariffs and restrictions - including the new export restrictions. The tariff policy from the US president has caused unrest in the financial markets in the past week.
Rare earths are used, among other things, in the production of wind turbines, solar cells, electric cars and electronics such as mobile phones and computers.
