ReSource Denmark, Denmark's largest plastic sorting facility in Esbjerg, now announces that the first plastic from consumer products has been sorted in the advanced and completely modern facility. The company writes this in a press release.

The large facility, which has an annual sorting capacity of 160,000 tons of plastic, will change plastic recycling in Denmark. The facility is capable of handling all of Denmark's plastic waste, thus ending the need for plastic exports.

- It is a historic achievement for ReSource Denmark that we can now put the facility into operation and process the first plastic bales. I am proud and excited on behalf of the entire team, who have worked hard to reach this important milestone. Words cannot describe how amazing it feels to finally see plastic running through our machines. Every batch we process is a step closer to reaching Denmark's ambitious recycling targets, says factory director Lars Hedegaard Kristensen.

The next phase is about fine-tuning the machinery and sorting equipment to ensure optimal functionality and achieve the highest possible recycling rate. ReSource Denmark's focus is on using proven technology on a large scale, combined with traceability from waste to product. This places the company at the forefront of the plastics industry's journey towards higher recycling rates.

- Fine-tuning our machinery is not just a technical step. It is our commitment to achieving the highest recycling rates. The next phase is crucial to ensuring that ReSource Denmark can run with high efficiency in the coming years, says the dedicated factory manager.

While the facility is nearing completion, construction of the administrative building and exterior is still underway. ReSource Denmark is on schedule and preparing for the official “Grand Opening” in the spring.
