Shell is in the process of changing the organization of the group's technical functions, which will gradually be integrated into Shell's business areas. The reorganization is part of an effort to simplify the structure and strengthen cost efficiency. The energy company announced this in a press release.
As part of the process, Robin Mooldijk will step down as President of Projects & Technology with effect from 28 February 2026 after 35 years with the group. Following his departure, Shell's Executive Committee will be reduced from nine to eight members.
- I am grateful to Robin for his significant contribution to Shell throughout his career. Before joining the Executive Committee, he led the transformation of Shell's refining strategy, where we brought together our refining and chemicals businesses into one single Chemicals and Products organization, bringing our customers and assets closer together and strengthening the already successful integration with Shell Trading. Most recently, Robin has successfully led the integration of our technical divisions into Integrated Gas as well as our Upstream, Downstream and Renewables businesses, positioning Shell strongly for the future. I wish him all the best for the future,” said Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell plc.
It is not clear from the announcement whether Robin Mooldijk has a future in place.
