ODSHERRED: 23 out of 25 members of Odsherred City Council have signed a budget agreement for 2025-2028. The agreement was made between Nyt Odsherred, the Social Democrats, the Liberal Party, the Danish People's Party, the Radical Party, the Conservative Party, the Danish Democrats and independent candidate Maria Liv Holck, while the Green Party and the Socialist Party are not in favor.
After the failed heating project in Odsherred Forsyning, the municipality is about to take over a significant debt, but it is not yet known how big the debt will actually be. This is taken into account in the budget for 2025, where 20 million DKK has been allocated for repayments and interest on loans taken over as a result of a guarantee provided on loans to Odsherred Varme.
The budget agreement means that the cash balance will be increased by 14.4 million DKK. DKK, and that the financial "line" of a cash balance of DKK 120 million is maintained.
Future operation of closed palliative care
The agreement adds DKK 51.7 million to a number of areas, divided between DKK 27 million for the elderly area, DKK 15.7 million for the specialized adult area and DKK 9 million for the Family Department.
In the elderly area, DKK 23 million is allocated for budget strengthening, while DKK 2.5 million is for implementing the joint recommendations of the working groups and the Social, Elderly and Psychiatric Committee for the future operation of the palliative care service Lynghuset. The service was closed in May after several deaths were reported to the police. DKK 1.5 million is also allocated for welfare technology solutions that can help solve the challenge of a shortage of labor.
The City Council has found reductions of 5.8 million DKK in the administration, which corresponds to approximately 11 full-time positions.
