NÆSTVED: With a well-developed plan from Næstved Port on how the process towards a new port outside the city should proceed, the city council has now decided how the political management of the large project should proceed.

A so-called §4, paragraph 17 committee has been established with Linda Frederiksen (S) as chairman, reports sn.dk, and there is thus agreement in the city council to establish the committee.

The starting point for the port plans, on the other hand, was decided in May with a 17-14 majority, where S-SF-EL-R set an upper limit of 100 million. DKK for what it would cost to phase out the port's current activities towards 2034 and create new port areas.

Rune Kristensen (K) estimates that it will be extremely difficult to entice interested investors to pour billions into a new district in Næstved, and calls the narrow port settlement "a giant roar. It will scare investors away big time".

But now the preparatory work must begin, and Næstved Port is asking three companies to submit bids for the task, according to the case presentation:

• WSP, which has international experience with port construction and Vordingborg Port, Copenhagen Port, Lemvig Port, Middelgrundsfortet as Danish references.
• A1 Consult, which has Hirtshals Port, Odense Port, Randers Port and Næstved Port, among others. as Danish references.
• Sweco, which has Vordingborg Port, Frederikshavn Port and Copenhagen Port as Danish references.

The task is to find where a port with 700 meters of quay and at least 75,000 square meters of rear areas can be established.
