NKT has signed a major AC onshore order with Elia Transmission Belgium (ETB) to support grid upgrades, NKT said in a statement.
The agreement will see the Danish cable manufacturer deliver 545 km of 70 kV, 110 kV and 150 kV AC cables to the Belgian TSO. The power cables will be produced at NKT's factories in Cologne, Germany, and Velke Mezi?í?í, Czech Republic, with delivery and installation scheduled for 2025-2027.
The order has been received as part of an existing framework agreement between NKT and ETB and complements an order for 72 km of 380 kV AC cables recently awarded under the same agreement, NKT said.
- We are therefore pleased to continue our collaboration with NKT, a partner with whom we are used to working and who has demonstrated unwavering reliability and expertise, says Frederic Dunon, CEO Elia Transmission Belgium.
