NKT has completed the replacement of parts of the power cable system on the Dutch part of the NorNed connection. The work was carried out for the Dutch transmission operator TenneT and means that the connection is now back in normal operation.
This is according to the press release.
The replacement took place at Eemshaven in the Netherlands and took place from April to June. The purpose was to ensure stable and reliable transmission of electricity between Norway and the Netherlands.
- We are pleased to support TenneT in maintaining operational reliability on the NorNed connection. Our expertise in delivering cable solutions ensures that the transmission system remains robust and efficient, says Axel Barnekow Widmark, EVP Service & Installation at NKT.
The order included the delivery and assembly of 450 kV high-voltage cables for the land and sea connection, new terminations and the renovation of existing components, which TenneT will be able to use as spare parts in the future. The project is part of an existing service agreement between NKT and TenneT.
