ARCHIVE PHOTO: This is what it looked like when Greenpeace demonstrated at TotalEnergies in Esbjerg in November 2024. Activists unloaded damaged property in front of the headquarters to focus attention on the oil industry's responsibility for climate change. The visit today was not a demonstration, however – but Greenpeace promises photos from the visit when TotalEnergies turns 101 on Friday.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, TotalEnergies will be 101 years old – and Greenpeace intends to mark this. That is why five or six Greenpeace activists visited TotalEnergies at the port of Esbjerg on Monday afternoon. But it was not to demonstrate that Greenpeace came to Esbjerg this time.

- It was not a demonstration. We were there to deliver a birthday present to Total, explains communications manager Rikke Agerbæk at Greenpeace and elaborates:

- These are preparations for Friday, when Total has its birthday.

However, the gift is probably mostly intended as a hate gift, because it concerns CO2 emissions.

- The gift is a map where you can see all the places around the world where Total's CO2 emissions have caused damage, says Rikke Agerbæk, who also promises that there will be more about the birthday gift on Friday.

TotalEnergies informs DOI.dk that the company has no comments on the visit or the gift.
