The Duferco Danish Steel steel mill in Frederiksværk is closing after 19 years of operation, and 124 out of 130 employees are expected to be laid off in June. This is reported by Sjællandske. The company's CEO, Guiliano Bo, points to a general restructuring in the parent company Duferco Group as the reason. The production of bar steel for the construction and mechanical engineering industries will cease, and only a small team will remain to handle the last orders.

Duferco Group is a multinational group with activities within steel, shipping and energy, which in 2006 took over the rolling mill in Frederiksværk. Duferco Danish Steel is located in what was the rolling mill under the Danish Steel Rolling Mill.
