Today, Tuesday, Denmark formally takes over the EU presidency until the end of the year, and with it comes a unique opportunity to set a clear direction for Europe's green transition. The hydrogen industry calls on the government to use the presidency to maintain the EU on an ambitious, green course.

The organization emphasizes that the solutions to both energy and supply crises, dependence on Russian energy and climate change require a significant investment in green energy. The hydrogen industry's director, Tejs Laustsen Jensen, therefore calls on Denmark to use the presidency to maintain and promote the EU's green agenda.

- In Europe, we must be the master of our own house, and this requires, first and foremost, that we can supply ourselves - both with energy and the technology to be used for energy production. It is a very big task, but the good thing is that we actually have every opportunity to solve it. We have both competencies in renewable energy production and the critical, industrial value chains that lie behind it. If we want, we can produce enormous amounts of green electricity, and we can convert it into hydrogen and green fuels, so that we can transform all sectors – including aviation and shipping, agriculture and heavy industry, says Tejs Laustsen Jensen, CEO of the Hydrogen Industry.

The Hydrogen Industry believes that Denmark has a special opportunity to take the lead and insist on green policy for the benefit of the entire EU.

- Denmark has an important chance now to politically take the lead in a common European development. We must seize this opportunity and insist on keeping our green promises for the benefit of the entire European community, says Tejs Laustsen Jensen.
