Rybners in Esbjerg is one of three schools that have been designated as a climate vocational school by the government. The designation as a climate vocational school took place in 2024, and with the appointment came a requirement to establish an advisory body. This has now been done with the establishment of an Advisory Board, which will assist with professional advice on the development, establishment and operation of the school.
The educational institution has now found five profiles from the business community and the social partners to advise Rybners in the development of the climate vocational school. This is stated by Rybners in a press release.
The members are the chairman of the board of SYNERGI Morten Helveg Petersen, the union secretary of Dansk Metal Peter Faber, the port director of Esbjerg Port Dennis Jul Pedersen, the deputy director of Dansk Industri Signe Tychsen Philip and the CEO of TEKNIQ Troels Blicher Danielsen.
- We have assembled an Advisory Board with members who understand the complexity of both the energy and education sectors - from political strategy to practical implementation. This is precisely the knowledge we need to create a climate vocational school that matches the ambition to contribute to delivering competent labor for the transformation of the energy sector, says Olaf Rye, CEO of Rybners.
In addition to Rybners in Esbjerg, TEC in the capital area and Herningsholm Erhvervsskole & Gymnasier in Herning were designated by the government in 2024 as the three new climate vocational schools. Schools must work purposefully on restructuring the energy sector, green transport, climate-friendly agriculture and sustainable construction.
