The government will acquire advanced equipment that will be able to monitor critical infrastructure such as submarine cables and pipelines. This is what TV 2 writes.
- We have been given a lot of new tasks, where we shadow Russian ships or participate in investigative tasks in connection with breaches in submarine cables, says Christian, who is a vessel commander in the Danish Navy Home Guard. For security reasons, only his first name is shown, as he follows recommendations from the Danish Defense Intelligence Service.
The investment includes, among other things, underwater drones and sonar equipment, which will make it possible to detect threats to infrastructure below the sea surface.
- It is of great importance for our combat power that with this proposal we will be much better at monitoring our Danish waters, says Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen (V).
