Elias Westergaard has been appointed as a new special advisor to the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities, Lars Aagaard, and will help implement the government's climate policy. This is reported by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities.
- We are in the middle of a large and complex task, where we must deliver on a number of political agreements, step up renewable energy and look forward to 2035 and a new climate target. At the same time, an important EU presidency awaits. Elias has exactly the right skills and experience to take on the task, and he will be an important help in turning goals and ambitions into action and reality, says Lars Aagaard, who is the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities.
Elias Westergaard comes from a position as chief consultant in the Ministry of Finance. He has previously worked in the Conservative People's Party's department for politics, press and campaign, including as team leader for the economic team. He is an economist (cand.polit.) from the University of Copenhagen.
