The joint municipal company ARC, which operates the Amager Bakke waste-to-energy plant and is owned by and handles waste from Copenhagen, Tårnby, Frederiksberg, Dragør and Hvidovre, has named its newly elected board of directors on Wednesday. Astrid Aller (SF) from Copenhagen is the new chairperson and replaces Andreas Keil (S) in the position.
Mayor of Tårnby Allan S. Andersen continues as one of the two vice-chairmen, while Sine Heltberg (S) replaces Thyge Enevoldsen (EL), both from Frederiksberg, as the other vice-chairman. In addition, Mayor of Dragør Kenneth Gøtterup (K) continues as an ordinary member. Rasmus Steenberger (SF) from Copenhagen and Tina Cartey Hansen (K) from Hvidovre are both new ordinary members of the board.
- As a board, we must ensure that ARC continues to deliver good waste services to citizens and businesses, as well as recycling and reuse for the sake of the climate and the environment. There is a lot to tackle. A special focus will be the sorting facility for residual waste, where recyclable waste will be sorted out from residual waste. It will be a supplement to household sorting and an important tool to increase recycling in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen and Tårnby, says ARC's newly elected board chair Astrid Aller in a press release.
