2376 active companies went bankrupt in Denmark in 2025. This is the lowest number of bankruptcies since 2021 and at the same time a decrease compared to 2024, when 2491 companies had to turn the key. This is shown by figures from Statistics Denmark.

Active companies are companies with employees or with a turnover of at least one million kroner. The number of bankruptcies has been decreasing recently and is now at its lowest level in four years. This is positive at a time when risks outside the country's borders are in the queue. This is according to Brian Friis Helmer, a private economist at Arbejdernes Landsbank.

- However, the Danish economy is in a fairly good place, and this helps to keep bankruptcies in calm waters. In addition, the consequences of the corona crisis are over, while the pressure from costs and interest rate increases has evaporated, he writes in a comment.

According to Kristian Skriver, senior economist at Dansk Erhverv, the economy has calmed down for several companies after a period of sharp increases in prices and wages.

- At the same time, demand is good, without the number of trainers growing into the sky, he writes in a comment to Ritzau.
