Aegir Insights is expanding its investment software, Aegir Quant™, from focusing on offshore wind to include more renewable energy technologies.
The new version integrates onshore wind, solar cells, energy storage and hybrid energy systems, thus providing investors and decision-makers with a single tool for financing and designing complex energy systems.
CEO Scott Urquhart emphasizes that the market needs standardized ways to evaluate projects across technologies:
- By expanding Aegir Quant's capabilities across all major renewable technologies, we are helping investors and decision-makers create new value and build resilience in an energy system built on renewable energy sources.
In recent years, Aegir Insights has established itself as a global supplier of knowledge to developers, investors and authorities.
The new Aegir Quant™ combines technical-economic modeling with financial analysis, thus giving stakeholders better opportunities to evaluate, optimize and finance future energy projects.
The expansion builds on Realise, a two-year research and development effort carried out in collaboration with Vattenfall, DTU and Energy Cluster Denmark, funded by EUDP under the Danish Energy Agency.
