The municipally owned utility company Din Forsyning, owned by the municipalities of Esbjerg and Varde, is now expanding its board of directors with two external members.

The company writes this in a press release.

The goal is to strengthen the professionalization and development of the company, which plays a central role in both the green transition and in securing critical infrastructure.

According to CEO Helle Damm Henrichsen, the utility sector is facing complex challenges - from climate change to resource scarcity and security of supply. This requires new skills and perspectives, also at board level.

- Our boards function really well, but we all agree that we could greatly benefit from members from outside. Some with experience from board work and understanding of us as a private company owned by two municipalities. We have lots of wishes for what a candidate could look like, but insight and vision are crucial, she says.

The boards of Din Forsyning currently consist of politically appointed members from the owner municipalities, employee representatives and consumer-elected members.

Now they must be supplemented by people with experience from board work and an understanding of the balance between public ownership and private operation.

The new members will take office on 1 January 2026. Interested parties can register as candidates no later than 27 October, while the final selection will take place on 26 November.
