Investor interest in large green energy infrastructure projects is strong, and CIP is now closing the fundraising for CI V with total commitments exceeding the target of 89.5 billion DKK, excluding capital raised for co-investments. CIP writes in a press release.

- Reaching 12 billion euros (89.5 billion DKK) is a fantastic result and a testament to our proven industrial approach to energy investments. I am proud that several of the world's largest and most sophisticated investors are committed to CIP, and I am pleased to once again have the support of our existing investors and welcome many new ones to our platform, says CEO and Partner at CIP Jakob Baruël Poulsen.

The fund aims to invest in the energy transition across different technologies, from wind and solar to battery storage, in low-risk OECD countries in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region. CI V has already made six final investment decisions, representing 60% of the fund, ensuring rapid capital deployment and significant value creation early in the fund's life.

With ownership of more than 50 projects in the development phase with a potential CI V investment volume of EUR 24 billion (DKK 179 billion), the fund is expected to be fully allocated within the next year. CI V is estimated to add 30 GW of new energy capacity to the global grid, enough to supply more than 10 million average households.

- Our team of energy industry experts specializes in value-adding investments in large energy infrastructure projects that deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors. We believe CI V is a highly relevant and important component of our investors' portfolios, as it offers portfolio stabilization and diversification with protection against downside risks from contracted cash flows and exposure to inflation. The value creation in our funds is based on early entry at low cost and risk minimization and optimization of assets across the different project phases, which are generally less correlated with macroeconomic factors and economic cycles. The robustness is further enhanced through a high degree of choice from our large project portfolio and diversification across technologies and markets, says Mads Skovgaard-Andersen, Head of Flagship Funds and Partner at CIP.
