Brønderslev Municipality has approved the construction of a 140 MW solar park at Tagmarksvej west of Brønderslev. The project, which is being developed by BioCirc, marks a significant milestone in the municipality's work to increase the share of renewable energy towards 2030.
The solar park is expected to produce around 160 GWh of green electricity annually, equivalent to the electricity consumption of approx. 35,500 households. In addition to the energy production itself, around 15 hectares of new permanent nature will be created in the area as part of the project. This will, among other things, contribute to better connecting the forested areas in Store Vildmose.
The project area will be managed organically, and no fences will be established around the facility, so that the area's grasslands remain accessible to wildlife. In addition, a wide fauna passage has been agreed with DN Brønderslev, which will ensure good access for the area's species.
- It will be of great benefit and joy to both Brønderslev and the green transition that the proposal has now been voted through, and we at BioCirc look forward to breaking ground as soon as possible so that we can fulfill our ambitions, says Bertel Maigaard, CEO of BioCirc, in a statement.
